First and foremost, Happy New Year. There is a lot to cover so I will get right to it.
Parts has been temporarily disabled. The reality is I just cannot handle parts. Too many people need parts and Bandai's archaic order system prevent me from being able to keep up with demand. Does this mean I am shutting down? No. However effective today the parts service will only be available to Gentei Kits customers. Before you get mad let me explain what is going to happen.
- All current pending orders will still be fulfilled
- After I get caught up and have handles all the backlog I will be implementing a system for GK customers. Each time you place an order I will be giving you a code to order parts. The amount of parts will based on the size of the order. For example I was thinking 10 parts per kit. This code would be good for a year.
- People who still want to order parts but are not interested in gentei items can sign up using their email. Since the parts coming in will be significantly less I will be handing out codes to people on the waiting list
- One of the reasons it takes me so long is I cannot keep up with all the new kits. So the order process is going to put more of a burden on you. Basically you are required to have the product code when you order. Don't worry it will only be for kits where I do not have the product code already. So for new kits that are not in the system it will be on you to search the internet or look at the manual to give me the information I need. I will be building a section where you can add kits and their product code. The two most important things I need is the product code and name in Japanese. Since most of you do not read Japanese I will still be handling that.
Again, this is all so I can keep up with you guys. I am sure there are at least 50 of you out there angry that I haven't responded to your email. Hopefully I will build a system where emailing me will not be necessary.
To reiterate, if you have a pending order it will still be fulfilled, I am only stopping new orders. I will not be taking orders from GK customers until I get the backlog and setup the new system.

Orders are still going along, I will be sending invoices for the next batch.
I know some of you are wondering when your order will be started but you will just have to wait. You can cancel anytime before payment.

I didn't think you guys read these updates, I was just venting. I am not returning emails because very soon the parts service is going to change drastically.
Let me explain why it takes so long: Bandai sets a max of 10,000 yen (about 100 US Dollars) per customer at a time. This means if I send in an order of around 9,000 yen, then wait a couple days and send another Bandai will not fulfill either one and send everything back. So I have to wait until a batch comes in before sending another. 1 batch consists of 10-20 orders and takes 1-2 weeks. For the past 2 months I have been getting 20-30 orders a week therefore putting me behind.

For people who order more than 5 parts I do want to let you know I skip over your order because it goes against the exact rule I have in place. Also, to let you know I skip over multiple orders because that also goes against what I am trying to do here.

I mentioned in my newsletter that I was thinking of creating a system that prioritizes Genteikits' customers and I have decided to implement it. I want to keep it as simple as possible so I am thinking that when you place an order on Genteikits.com you will receive a code. This code you will enter in the parts system when making an order. Any orders flagged with a valid code will be fulfilled immediately.
Normal orders will be fulfilled with whatever spot is left. For example, roughly 20 orders are done in 1 batch. So if 2 GK customers place an order there would be 18 spots left for non GK customers. I doubt it will affect non GK customers much.
